TEACHERS - GRADES 6-10
Learn to teach Computer Science Discoveries (CSD) in an engaging 5-day summer workshop. Start the day online with experienced Alaskan Code.org facilitators and spend the afternoon in independent study. Participants will explore the curriculum and learning tools, discuss classroom management and teaching strategies, and build a community with other CS educators.

CS Discoveries is an introductory computer science course for 6 - 10th grade students. Mapped to CTSA standards, the course takes a wide lens on computer science by covering topics such as problem solving, programming, physical computing, user centered design, and data, while inspiring students as they build their own websites, apps, animations, games, and physical computing systems. Discoveries can be flexibly taught as a single semester, two semesters over multiple years, or as a full-year course. Options are even available for less than one semester. The Code.org curriculum is available at no cost for anyone, anywhere to teach.

* Optional two 500-level university credits available for completing the summer session, and an additional 2 credits are available for ongoing remote support during the upcoming school year while you teach the class.

* Scholarships available to cover registration fees ($1300) for first 20 eligible educators in each class. You must be a school district teacher with the ability to implement the curriculum next year to apply.

TEACHERS - GRADES 9-12
Learn to teach Computer Science Principles (CSP) in an engaging 5-day summer workshop. Start the day online with experienced facilitators and spend the afternoon in independent study. Participants will explore the Principles curriculum and learning tools, discuss classroom management and teaching strategies, and build a community with other CS educators.

The CS Principles course introduces students to the foundational concepts of computer science and challenges them to explore how computing and technology can impact the world. This year-long course can be taught as an introductory course and as an AP course - no prerequisites required for students or for teachers new to computer science! In addition, the Code.org curriculum is available at no cost for anyone, anywhere to teach.
